“Romney Marsh Ramblings” is a captivating journey through one of England’s most unique and enigmatic landscapes.
Hosted by broadcaster Dominic King, each episode takes you on a personal exploration of a place steeped in history, mystery, and character.
Dom visits hidden gems across the marsh, delving into the lives of the people who call it home and uncovering the essence of this distinctive region.
Whether it’s the quiet beauty of the countryside, the quirky local tales, or the deeply rooted sense of community, “Romney Marsh Ramblings” uncovers the stories and secrets that make Romney Marsh truly unforgettable.
Episode 1: Dom visits the 12th-century Fairfield Church (aka St Thomas Becket), the most iconic of all the churches on Romney Marsh. It sits isolated in a field grazed by sheep amongst drainage ditches (dykes) - the houses of the original medieval inhabitants of Fairfield have long since disappeared.
