    ‘Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided, the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger.’” Genesis 25:22-23 (ESV)

    WE WRESTLE WITH FLESH

    15 For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.16 Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good.17So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh.     Nature #1: the Flesh

    Our flesh/sin nature is the part of us that actively opposes God.

    Flesh is the traitor within

    14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.” James 1:14-16 (ESV)

    The reality of nature #1: It is opposed to God. And it makes us dead

    Nature #2: the Spirit
