एक जंगलात कासव, ससा,हरीण ,कावळा आणि उंदीर हे एकमेकांचे छान मित्र होते . ते नेहमी बरोबर असत. एकत्र खेळायचे ,खायचे प्यायचे आणि मजा करायचे. एक दिवस एक शिकारी त्या जंगलात आला आणि त्याने कासवाला पकडले. मग त्याच्या सर्व मित्रांनी मिळून युक्तीने आणि धाडसाने कासवाला त्या शिकाऱ्याच्या तावडीतून सोडवले.

In a forest, a tortoise, a rabbit, a deer, a crow, and a mouse were very good friends. They always stayed together. They played, ate, drank, and had fun as a group. One day,a hunter came into the forest and caught the tortoise. All his friends then came together and, using their intelligence and bravery, saved the tortoise from the hunter’s trap.

Moral: Friends should always help each other. Wisdom is greater than strength.

प्रभु श्रीराम आणि त्यांची वानरसेना समुद्रावर पूल बांधत होती. मोठमोठे दगड आणि लाकडे उचलून सर्व वानरसेना मेहनत करत होती. एक छोटीशी खार हे सगळं पहात होती. मग तिनेही मदत करायचे ठरवले. खार वाळूत लोळून आपल्या अंगावरची रेती (छोटे खडे) मोठ्या दगडांवर टाकत होती. हे ती वारंवार करत होती. वानरांनी ते बघितले आणि त्यांनी तिची थट्टा केली. पण प्रभु श्रीरामांनी खारीचे हे प्रामाणिक प्रयत्न पाहिले. त्यांनी खारीला जवळ घेतले आणि प्रेमाने खारीच्या पाठीवर हात फिरवला. तेव्हापासून खारीच्या पाठीवर तीन रेषा (पट्टे )दिसू लागल्या. खारीने दाखवून दिलं की लहान प्रयत्नही मनापासून केले तर मोठं कार्य साधता येतं.

When Lord Rama and his army were building a bridge of stones to reach Lanka, many strong monkeys (wanaraas) worked together. They carried big rocks and logs, placing them in the sea.

A small squirrel saw this great work and wanted to help. Though it was tiny, the squirrel rolled in sand, carried a little dust (tiny stones) on its back, and shook it over the stones. It kept doing this again and again. The wanaraas laughed at the squirrel, but Lord Rama noticed. He gently stroked the squirrel’s back with his fingers and praised its effort. From that day, three lines appeared on the back of every squirrel as a blessing from Lord Shrirama.

The squirrel’s small act showed that no help is ever too small when done with love and devotion.

एका जंगलात एक क्रूर सिंह रोज एका प्राण्याची शिकार करीत असे. सिंहाच्या भीतीने प्राणी दररोज एक प्राणी त्याला अर्पण करीत. एकदा सश्याची पाळी आली आणि त्याने उशिरा जाण्याचे ठरवले. सशाने सिंहाला सांगितले की, आणखी एक मोठा सिंह विहिरीत आहे. सिंहाने स्वतःचा प्रतिबिंब पाहून त्यावर झडप घातली आणि विहिरीत पडून मरण पावला. अश्या तऱ्हेने सश्याने चातुर्याने आणि धाडसाने जंगलातील सर्व प्राण्यांना सिंहापासून वाचवले.

In a forest, there lived a cruel lion who hunted one animal every day. Out of fear, the animals decided to offer one animal to the lion daily as a sacrifice. One day, it was a rabbit’s turn, and he deliberately decided to go late. The rabbit told the lion that another, even bigger lion was inside a well. When the lion saw his own reflection in the water, he attacked it, fell into the well, and died.

बोध: हुशारी आणि शहाणपण हे ताकदीपेक्षा मोठे असतात. संकटाला धीराने सामोरे गेले, तर तोडगा नक्की निघतो. चातुर्य आणि शहाणपण बलापेक्षा मोठं असतं.

Moral: Wisdom is stronger than brute strength. With patience and clever thinking, even the biggest problems can be solved. Wisdom and cleverness are stronger than brute force.
