He also touched on players who merit a national team call up.

We segued into Barcelona, their brilliant recovery and change of fortunes since Xavi came in.

Finally, the Italian national team and their failure to qualify for yet another World Cup came into focus. We dissected their forwards line, and aging defence, then discussed their possible next steps.
