Mugu Rock, a prominent rock formation on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) at Point Mugu, boasts a history shaped by both natural processes and human development. Once part of a larger ridge, it was dramatically altered when the PCH was constructed between 1937 and 1940, resulting in the iconic rock formation we see today. Prior to the highway's construction, a road had curved around the rock, now serving as a scenic bypass.
