Acerca de esta escucha
Mosaic political risk specialist Tamar Katamadze speaks to New York colleague Viren Mascarenhas, a partner in the Litigation & Arbitration Department at Milbank LLP and a Columbia Law School lecturer. They discuss the increasing demand for a type of political risk coverage called Arbitration Award Default Insurance, or AADI, which protects businesses, investors, shareholders, family offices, and award creditors who may win legal proceedings against sovereign entities that impede foreign investments—but then struggle to claim the actual monetary award. In recent years, AADI has become a go-to solution to cover enforcement risk and ensure arbitration awards are ultimately worth more than the piece of paper they’re written on.
