Average runners with above average enthusiasm! We're Becky and Briony, and between us we're training for four marathons, a load of halves (Becky ran 10 in 10 weeks for charity!) and an ultra, while juggling 5 kids between us. Join us on our journey to the London Marathon start line and beyond!


Running for us is about SO MUCH MORE than physical health - in fact, it's mostly about mental health and how it makes us feel.


There are so many super polished and professional podcasts from super speedy runners, experts and athletes that we LOVE for inspiration - but sometimes we just want to hear from normal people, like us, and chat about the sport we love so much with people we can relate to. That's why we're here!


No matter how fast and furious or slow and steady you are, whether you're just starting out or a full blown running geek, regardless of your pace, distance, race and other goals... you can sit [/run!] with us!

    IT'S SPRING MARATHON SEASON and we're excited! A mix of some of our top tips given our hilariously professionally locked in but super super average mum runner performances - as always, we're average runners with above average enthusiam! - so here are all the top tips you need to know to run your first London Marathon (or other marathon!)


    Grab a cuppa and have a little chatty catch up with us - we've got some interesting bits and pieces on with Becky in the London training trenches but also with Chicago Marathon in the diary for October. Bri may or may not make Newport Marathon this year, but either way we're going to nerd out about running and embarrass ourselves so come join us!


    If you're worried about fuelling, don't be - this episode and our Sîan Sec one from Season 1 will get you completely ready to go.


    We also have a little chat about running on social media and how things always need to be bigger and bigger and the power of actually tuning out and recognising the achievement of running a 10k, a half, a marathon, whatever it is - it doesn't always need to be 50 ultras in 5 weeks or whatever instagram is feeding us!


    A little bit of chat around some of our personal running quirks too - like Briony's weird laps habit, 18 mile track runs and 30 mile lap ultras... maybe that one was a mistake.

  • #18 - THE ONE WITH THE ULTRAS WE SAID WE’D NEVER DO - Race to the Stones & South West Coast 50k + top tips

    It's taken us a while to get this up, but in the summer we both tackled our first ultras... and there's SO MUCH to chat about!


    We debrief the ultras - Becky tackled Race to the Stones 50k on an OUTRAGEOUSLY hot day, and Bri got to do the beautiful South West Coast 50k. Neither of us actually trained because... well, life, and we were coming off the back of the longest ever marathon block (since, Bri has also done a solo 30 miler doing laps of Greenwich park... a very different experience for another day!)


    There's so much to say about ultras, and for 2 road runners to say we'd never do it and then end up loving it... come grab a coffee and unpack it with us!

  • #17 - Finally... WE'RE BACK!

    We have missed catching you all - being so locked in for our 2025 London Marathon training, we had some much needed down time and also unfortunately quite a bit of life lifeing in the interim so we dropped the ball with the pod.


    We're back now, with this little apology and explanation for our absence and TWO brand new series 2 episodes dropping soon with hopefully some more exciting ones to come!
