  • 4. Radical Like Elijah - Video
    Oct 12 2025
What would you risk to bring someone to Jesus? Your reputation? Your job? Your life? This question may seem intense, but as we think through radical faith as a church I find that more and more the answer to this question determines a lot about the faith we walk in. Some of us would give everything, while others of us would be more cautious. Wherever you are at the call has been clearly given to us by Jesus to “die to yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Me.” What would it look like to have a faith willing to do that? Radical. Elijah had radical faith. He came on the scene at a time of great idolatry in the nation of Israel. Following the rule of king Ahab and his wife Jezebel they had committed themselves to the false god Baal, who was supposed to be the weather god, controlling the provision of water needed for rich harvests. Elijah begins by declaring the LORD’s power over weather with a 3 year drought, and then came straight at Baal on Mt. Carmel. He shows us radical faith in his bold, public stand for the LORD in the midst of a fallen people. His boldness to trust in God set the stage for one of the most clear displays of the One True God’s authority over all. Elijah was willing to risk everything to call people back to God. Join us this weekend for a worship service where we will dive into this moment in the life of Elijah, and grow in our understanding of what it looks like to be Radical Like Jesus! - Pastor Ben Key Verse: 1 Kings 18:21 - "Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” But the people said nothing." For this week's Scripture and notes: http://bible.com/events/49496616

  • 3. Radical Like Gideon - Video
    Oct 5 2025
Are there limits to your trust? Of course there are! We live with people who are not always trustworthy, and this has taught us to question and guard against trusting things outside of ourselves. This is no different when it comes to our trust of God. Though He has never been untrustworthy, He often seems to lead us into places that feel risky, difficult, and unwanted. Instead of trusting Him, we run. Instead of following Him we try to lead. Instead of submitting to His strength and will, we look at the circumstances and lean on our own understanding. Gideon was just like us. He had grown up in a time where trust with God was broken. Israel was under constant attack from the Midianites, and it seemed as though God had fully abandoned them. So when God showed up to call Gideon to follow Him into battle, it makes sense that Gideon was doubtful. I would have been too! Even in his doubt God was the Good Shepherd who lead him through, and helped him learn how trustworthy The Lord actually is. Gideons faith didn’t start radical, but God did radical things through Gideon’s willingness to trust just a little more with each step. Join us this weekend for a worship service as we dive into what it looks like to be more radical in our faith! - Pastor Ben Key Verse: Judges 7:2 (NIV) - "The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many men. I cannot deliver Midian into their hands, or Israel would boast against me, ‘My own strength has saved me.’" For this week's Scripture and notes: https://bible.com/events/49496615

  • 2. Radical Like Esther - Video
    Sep 28 2025
In the past few weeks, it has become easier to speak about our faith because of God working through the faithful life of Charlie Kirk, who was tragically murdered by someone filled with hate against him. We now have the incredible opportunity to meet people where they are with the truth of the gospel of Jesus. What an open door! Let’s walk through it confidently, led by the Holy Spirit. But I want to ask: how should we act, speak, and live when public opinion about Jesus and Christianity is unpopular? It wasn’t that long ago that people were being deplatformed, doxxed, ridiculed, and persecuted in various other ways for speaking truths that you and I know come from God’s Word. Was it easy to speak the truth when we knew something was wrong? Was it easy to openly identify as a follower of Jesus? As we continue in our Radical Like_ series, this weekend we will look at Esther. Her incredible courage to reveal the truth is evident in the way she confronted the hateful actions of an enemy of God’s people. Approaching the king without an invitation was forbidden and punishable by death, yet Esther knew she had been placed in her position as Queen of Persia “for such a time as this” to plead on behalf of God’s people. God used her faith in powerful ways to bring deliverance to the Israelites. I’m looking forward to worshiping with you, communing with Christ with you, and learning from God’s Word with you. Sep 21 2025
Throughout the Bible we see incredible stories of radical faith. Faith that makes you wonder how you would respond in similar situations. Faith that challenges you to trust deeper, step forward confidently, stand firm, and be bold. Over the next 9 weeks we are going to be looking at these radical faith stories from throughout scripture, and seeing how we can grow as a church and individuals to walk out our faith in bold, God honoring ways. Cliff Miller, one of our local missionaries and ministry leader over the His Hill college ministry, will be bringing the message about the faith of David this Sunday. Join us this weekend for the launch of our fall campaign! We will have a ministry fair, coffee and donuts, Core Classes launching, and great times of worship as we fellowship together.
