Mississippi lawmakers move toward criminalizing illegal immigration

Illegal immigrants who enter Mississippi would be guilty of a felony punishable by no less than two years in jail under legislation passed by the Senate Judiciary B Committee this week. If an illegal immigrant is arrested for violence or a sex offense, they could be sentenced to up to five more years.
