Yam Oroight? Another Tom On One for you all this week, and the "one" is none other than Healer of Bastard's very own bass player, Al Lowe!

Al is a full on west midlander, with the voice and everything so Tom is very happy to be amongst his people.

We discuss key musical moments from Al's life: From when he turned greeb as a teen, all the way through to when he turned 30.

SERIOUS WARNING: There's some quite graphic injury detail, so if you're squeamish or listening with kids (you shouldn't be, it's quite sweary) then maybe skip the skateboarding segment.

We also reminisce about songs the pandemic gave us, build Al's ultimate bass trio, hear about millionaires after free stuff and just who did Al name his cat after?

Songs this week are from: Green Day, Guttermouth, Grail Guard, NOFX, Pears and Bad Religion.

  • Punks on Film: The Great Rock 'n Roll Swindle- Part 2
    Dec 21 2025

    Send us a text

The swindle continues in the second part of our festive magnum opus: The complete deconstruction of 1980s highest grossing movie (about the Sex Pistols) "The Great Rock 'n Roll Swindle".

Danny Barrett off The Crash Mats and Eddie French off Punk Rock Elite Podcast are still in and Danny is revealing himself to be a Sex Pistols expert as we move through.

This half has changing nationalities, a trip to Brazil, a talking dog, a French resistance fighter (probably) and of course, more flaccid cocks.

Merry Christmas Everyone. See you in 2026.

  • Punks on Film: The Great Rock 'n Roll Swindle - Part 1
    Dec 18 2025

    Send us a text

Merry Christmas one and all! We all like a good movie over the festive period, but we also like slagging off crap movies too. Hence, Tom has summoned the two best film critics he knows: Danny Barrett off The Crash Mats and Eddie French off Punk Rock Elite Podcast to discuss, dissect and review Julien Temple's 1980 "documentary", The Great Rock 'n Roll Swindle, which stars The Sex Pistols and their hangers on.

Part 1 has all the things you imagine when thinking about punk rock: Gimp masks, funk medleys, jamming rock n roll standards, child nakedness and singing lessons.

The film's available to watch on YouTube, so it may be worth watching that so you know what we're on about here.

Part 2 will land in a couple of days!

  • MLPP213 - Phinius Gage
    Nov 29 2025

    Send us a text

It's time to visit Brighton....but only after we've been to Croydon first to chat with Crystal Palace supporter, tall man and bass player of Phinius Gage, Mr Mike Scott.

Phinius Gage kept us entertained almost a quarter of a century ago with their skate-punk riffage and hectic touring schedule before calling it a day in 2007. But, now they're back!

We talk about missing the P-Rock TV boat by moments, punk and metal interplay, crisps, your favourite bands playing right near your house, being sponsored by a vile drink and much more.

Tom's joined by Jake off Los Fatso Libres who does an excellent job co-piloting.

Songs this week are from: Dead Kennedys, Our Souls, Dogpiss, Crocodile God and The Muckaz.
