The Miami Hurricanes tight end room is poised to break out this season. Junior Elijah Arroyo is healthy and looking great in practice. True freshman Elija Lofton has been one of the top stories in camp, and sophomore Riley Williams continues to improve. Miami is also looking for breakout seasons from young defensive backs like Damari Brown, Robert Stafford, Jaden Harris and Zaquan Patterson. Brown is likely to step into a starting role this year. Patterson, a true freshman, will likely get some burn this year despite his inexperience.
Host Alex Donno talks with high school sports and recruiting expert Larry Blustein about possible breakout candidates this year. Larry describes how Cam Ward can elevate Miami’s offense with his scrambling and his improvisation. The guys discuss how much of a difference running back Montrell Johnson makes to the Florida Gators offense. Miami faces Florida week one, and Johnson might have to miss that game due to a knee injury. Blustein has scouted Miami Hurricanes verbal commitment Donta Simpson for many years. Blu describes what Miami will be getting from the class of 2025 defensive tackle, who offered his verbal pledge to the Hurricanes on Friday.
