Mannequin Alive

This story follows Mike Lingard, a photographer who descends into alcoholism and homelessness after his wife, Marian, dies from a heart attack induced by viewing a disturbing art exhibition titled "Faces of Premonition". Mike is rescued by Alex Davidson, a former psychologist seeking his own redemption, who encourages Mike to answer a cryptic newspaper advertisement seeking a traveling companion based solely on a photograph of their eyes. This leads Mike to Edna Richards, a mysterious artist with a "mannequin-like" physical presence but intensely "living" eyes, forcing Mike to confront his grief and the haunting power of the human gaze.
