Revelation 3:14-22 contains a message from Jesus to the church in Laodicea and the wider church, rebuking them for their spiritual lukewarmness and self-sufficient wealth. It calls for earnest repentance and encourages them to buy spiritual "gold," "white robes," and "eye salve" from Jesus to become truly rich, clothed, and able to see. The passage famously includes the promise that those who hear Jesus's voice and open the "door" will receive fellowship with Him and the promise of sitting with Him on His throne.
