In today's episode I share with you a learning process I've gone through to help me make the hard decisions I need to in life, to not live a subpar life.
Following on from my psychology trend lately, this one is a deep dive into some key learnings for me.
It is a big conversation, and a time where you really have to consider your role in your life, what you want from life, and where you want this thing called life to go.
In the episode I refer to a 4-step framework I use to help me to uplevel my life.
This is the 4 step process in which I analyse situations and my life.
Step 1 – Reflection
In my personal development practice I like to reflect. Whether this is a conscious exercise where I sit and spend half an hour journaling, meditating, or just thinking about my life and where I am at, or now that I practice it more regularly, reflection might look like a car trip, a walk, a bath, or a quiet time where I take a moment to assess.
Step 2 – Awareness
Once you reflect you have to become aware, aware to what is around you, your actions, your reactions, the actions and reactions of others, but most importantly what you want.
Step 3 – Consider
Consider what better response you could have had, how things could of gone differently, your part in the situation, others parts in the situation, the seriousness of it, the outcome of it, and how it sits with you. Try to take the emotion out of it and look at it logically, but then also understand your emotions to it and whether they are rationale.
Step 4 – Adjust
Is it something that needs to change? Is it the entirety of the relationship or situation or is there an area you can address to get what you need from the situation.
Have a listen and see if any of this resonates for you.
