MSU Welcomes in Struggling Northwestern Squad

January 6, 2026: Michigan State will look to continue their winning ways at home with a matchup against the struggling Wildcats from Northwestern on Thursday night. The 0-3 Wildcats have had a rough season to date most recently with a surprising loss at home to Minnesota. The ‘Cats are having trouble on defense and are not a good 3 point shooting team or rebounding on either end of the floor.

MSU, in contrast, continues to rank as the 2nd best defensive team in the land and elite rebounding on both ends of the court. The thing the team has struggled with of late is its transition game and 2 point shooting - both of which improved significantly in the most recent game against USC. Fears and company will look to build upon those strengths and hope to keep Northwestern winless in the league.
