The parable of the rich man and Lazarus is a story of reversals—a tragic reversal for the rich man, and a gracious one for Lazarus. And it all points to the even greater reversal found in the gospel—where Jesus suffers the anguish and torment we deserve, so that we can be carried to heaven and find our eternal comfort in Him!
