I met Sam Tompkins for this interview a little over a month ago. He was on his first promo tour around Europe, so I felt like he was really excited to travel, meet his fans, and get an idea of what tour life could look like for him. And because of that spirit, we had a really easy-going and fun conversation, where he told me, for example, why Dianna Ross may have seen him fully passed out drunk, what started his journey to writing really intimate songs, and why it might even take years before we get to hear his very first album.
