On today’s episode, we’re moving from the mind to the heart. This week’s focus is the Lord washing our hearts. We’re going to talk about what it really means to bring the mud of our sin, our compromises, and our secret regrets into the light and presence of God and ask Him to cleanse us. Not to shame us, but to restore us.

Have you ever had that feeling where your heart just feels… muddy?

You know you’re forgiven in Christ. You believe the gospel. But maybe there’s something you said in anger, a pattern you keep returning to, or a compromise you’ve been ignoring. And even though life goes on—you go to work, care for your family, serve at church—inside there’s this heaviness, this sense that your heart isn’t clean.

We just walked through Lent and Resurrection Sunday, remembering Jesus’ love, His sacrifice, and the empty tomb. Now we’re stepping into a new month, a new season—and around here that means rain, puddles, and that old saying: “April showers bring May flowers.”

When I was thinking about what to share with you this month, I kept picturing those gentle spring rains that rinse dust off cars, wash pollen out of the air, and soak dry ground so new things can grow. And I sensed the Lord whisper, “That’s what I want to do in your mind and heart—wash away what doesn’t belong so I can grow something new.”

So we’re starting a new series called “April Showers: Cleansed to Grow.” And today, in Week 1, we’re talking about how God uses His Word—Scripture—to wash your mind, to rinse off the lies, the fear, and the shame you’ve been carrying.

Hey fellow Light Bearers, Happy Resurrection Sunday!

In Christian traditions the pastor often says, “He is Risen” to the congregation, they respond back with, “He is Risen Indeed.” Say that with me my friends, “He is Risen indeed.”

We’ve walked through Lent together—through honest self‑examination, the wilderness, Passover, and the cross.

On today’s episode, we arrive at the empty tomb. This is the day everything changes.

If the story ended on Friday, we’d have forgiveness but no future, a dead Savior and a shattered hope. But the grave could not hold Jesus.
