  • Invention Secrecy Act | Why Were Patents Buried?
    Apr 13 2026

What if I told you right now, sitting in classified vaults are inventions that could change everything? Energy, Flight, and Technology that could rewrite civilization as we know it. Not science fiction. Not theory, Patents Filed Approved,
and the buried. In this episode, we are asking the question nobody in power wants to ask: What inventions were suppressed and why?

In the U.S., there’s a real mechanism called a “secrecy order.” Under the Invention Secrecy Act (1951), the government can restrict patents if they’re considered a national security risk.
    What that means:

    • Certain inventions (especially military, encryption, nuclear-related tech) can’t be publicly disclosed
    • The inventor can be legally blocked from sharing or profiting from it
    • Thousands of patents have been under secrecy orders at various times.
    • Under the Invention Secrecy Act of 1951, the U.S. government can block patents from being published
    • These are called “Secrecy Orders.”

Because they are classified, exact patents are often hidden, but categories include:

    • Advanced propulsion systems
    • Cryptography / communications
    • Nuclear-related technologies
    • Radar & surveillance systems
    • Energy generation systems

Because the real gatekeepers aren’t just shadowy figures in dark rooms. They’re policies, they’re profit margins, and they’re systems designed to reward what sustains the world—not what disrupts it.
So the question isn’t just Who’s hiding the inventions?
The real question is, what happens to an idea that threatens everything?

The Smithsonian: Museum… or Narrative Machine?
“What if the most powerful storyteller in America isn’t Hollywood, the media, or even Congress… but a museum complex funded by your tax dollars?”
The Smithsonian Institution controls one of the largest collections of artifacts on Earth — more than 150 million items.
    But here’s the real question:
Who decides what story they tell? What Is the Smithsonian?

    • The Smithsonian Institution was founded in 1846.
    • It was funded by a British scientist, James Smithson, who never visited the United States.
    • Its mission: “the increase and diffusion of knowledge.”

    • It is technically a public–private partnership (federally funded but not a traditional federal agency).

    Size & Reach
Operates 21 museums, the National Zoo, and multiple research centers.
Most are located in Washington, D.C..
    Houses over 150 million artifacts.
Free admission to most museums — taxpayer-supported.
    Most Visited Museums
    National Museum of American History
    National Air and Space Museum
    National Museum of Natural History
National Museum of African American History and Culture“If a discovery rewrote the human timeline tomorrow… would we hear about it immediately? Or would it pass through layers of committees, peer review boards, and institutional risk assessment before it ever reached the public?”Website - http://www.bottomofthat.com
