Welcome to the world of Rudyard Kipling's Rikki TIkki Tavi, a story of good vs evil. A children's story that still has relevance today. Let's learn a little about Kipling's life, about Mongooses - Are they domestic? And are they immune to snake bites? - and listen to the story before hearing some literary analysis expanding upon how the themes within this tale are still relevant.

    Apr 7 2026

    Hello there!

Don't forget to hit Like, Follow, or comment!

Welcome to Let's Get Foxy! In this episode, you are going to meet myself, your host, Lacey! You will learn that we are going to have games and different prizes available because we are going to turn my misfortune into something fun that we all can enjoy! You will also learn that I love questions! So please feel free to drop them!

This episode contains an overview for future episodes because there is so much to unpack with this particular piece of literature. If I missed anything that you think should be brought up, let me know!

This episode contains readings of Chapters 1-3. Why no Etymology and Extracts? Take a listen to find out! (Also, drop a request because for you dear listener, I am willing to read them.)

We end our chat with a light analysis of chapters 1-3 and discuss some words that are commonly used throughout this book.

Please let me know if there are any other terms you would be interested in exploring as there are quite a few within this book that are archaic or the pronunciations have changed. I actually tried to keep most of my pronunciations true to the time to enhance the experience for you, but there are a few modern pronunciations that I have kept.

    Stay tuned for more!

  • I Swear, the Name Isn't DUMB!
    Apr 7 2026

Welcome to our mini episode describing the inspiration behind the name!

Please hit Like, Follow, or Comment! We would love to hear from you!

Let's Get Foxy! isn't named for what you think, and it demonstrates this host's love for books! I actually chanced upon a literary term many years ago, which ended up inspiring the name! Listen to the story detailing my teenaged escapade in the attempt to save a book I loved and was convinced was doomed!

Also, can you guess the book? Or would you like to know which novel I was determined to try and rescue?

I know, sources for talking about a podcast name inspiration? I just like to cross my "t's" and dot my "i's." I want this to be a trustworthy podcast that you can enjoy without a worry.
