#LesterInYourLounge visits a Lions Club home filled with community spirit in Plumstead

This morning’s Lester in Your Lounge broadcast came to you from Plumstead, where listener and proud Cape Town Lions Club member Gail Darling opened her home to the team. Gail shared her love for the neighbourhood and her passion for community service through the Lions Club, the oldest chapter in South Africa. She spoke about finding purpose in helping others, emphasising the Lions motto, “where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.” From soup kitchens to cancer ward revamps and diabetes testing, the Lions continue to support critical projects across the city, driven by volunteers like Gail who believe in paying it forward. It was a warm and festive morning filled with community spirit and even a slice of the famous Lions Christmas cake.
