Lent Isn’t About Your Plan

Lent is not a self-improvement program. It is not about our plans our projects or our performance. From the beginning Lent was a preparation for Baptism a time to empty our hands and receive the life God wants to give.

Drawing from St John of the Cross and the meaning of Christian obedience this reflection explores what it really means to follow Christ. We cannot follow Him while clinging to our own will. Lent invites us to let go to trust the Father and to learn how to live at the pace of grace.
