God designed our neurology to reward us for alignment with His truth. When we believe lies or live in fear, shame and anxiety, our bodies respond with stress hormones that can lead to physical and emotional dysfunction. Religion, too — works-based striving — keeps us in fight or flight. The gospel is centered around freedom and rest. When we align with God's truth and live in peace, trust and belonging, our bodies naturally heal and thrive. Peace and trust promote healing. We become what we behold.
