Learning to Care for Ourselves and Others

It doesn't really concern us that people today care for so little outside of themselves until, in our hour of need, we find them incapable of caring about us. Yet, even as we condemn them for this incapacity to show common kindness, we fail to see the obvious: we don't just walk amongst the uncaring, we have become their kind ourselves.
