I've been trying to learn Korean and I've tried different ways but starting from the beginning with this is very helpful.

I have been trying to learn through online classes, a local korean class from a family of koreans, and Ttmik. I have retained more from David’s podcast than I have from everything else! Love it and hope he continues this podcast. One thing that I wish he would start doing (maybe he has mentioned it in a recording I haven’t gotten to yet) is a google doc or something to read each new phrase in korean. He is very open to receiving emails so I will send him a message!

Each episode is around 5 minutes, but contains 1-2 minutes of intro, outro, and ads. So the total learning time is quite poor as a ratio of overall time. You can skip ahead of course, but that gets tiring pretty quick.

As far as ads go, I don't get why they are there in the first place, since I pay for Audible. They are not hard-coded into the recording; they change even listening to the same episode. Having 25 second ads for about 3 minutes of content is a pretty bad ratio, but knowing you're paying the subscription on top of that makes it even worse.

Some of the episodes have volume that is too quiet, causing you to crank the player volume. This can lead to VERY startling ads (which are normal volume).

The content that there is so far is well-presented and fairly easy to follow along. You're going to repeat episodes many times as you learn, which would be a lot less painful without all the filler/ads. I don't know if I'm going to continue with this podcast. It takes a lot lf manual intervention to avoid all the filler/ads every episode.
