Hannah Upp had a rare condition called dissociative fugue. She'd black out and disappear for days with no memory of it. It happened more than once. Then a hurricane hit the Virgin Islands and she went missing for good. Searchers believe she walked into the ocean mid-fugue and never came back.
Don Lewis was a millionaire who vanished in 1997. Left his van, left his fortune, left behind a lot of people with reasons to want him gone. The case sat mostly forgotten until a Netflix documentary dragged it back into the spotlight.
Steven Koecher might be the strangest. Security cameras caught him parking his car and walking calmly through a neighborhood in Henderson, Nevada. A few minutes later, gone. His phone records and the footage don't clear anything up. They make it worse.
Dorothy Arnold disappeared in 1910 after a walk in New York City. Her wealthy family kept it quiet for weeks before going to police. By then, anything useful was long gone.
Then there's Lars Mittank. Airport security footage from Bulgaria shows him sitting in a terminal, then suddenly sprinting out of the building and into the woods at full speed. Millions of people have watched that clip. Nobody can explain what he was running from. Nobody's seen him since.
