  • Don't Quit Your Day Job - Part 1
    Aug 30 2025
    🎙️ LOL, God Podcast – Episode 5

Title: Don’t Quit Your Day Job (Part 1: Joseph the Carpenter)

Hey hey hey, y’all! Buckle up — this one’s a little all over the place, but so is life, right? 😅 In this episode of the LOL, God Podcast, I’m diving into a lesson God once spoke to me loud and clear: “Don’t quit your day job.”

    We’ll talk about:

✨ Parenting two very different kids (and how God parents us uniquely)

✨ The time God used sarcasm — my love language — to get my attention while I was doing dishes

✨ Jesus’ witty, mic-drop moments of sarcasm in Scripture

✨ Joseph, Jesus’ earthly father, who had life-changing dreams but still had to get up, work hard, and obey

This is the start of a two-parter on the two Josephs of the Bible — both dreamers, both chosen by God, and both proof that calling doesn’t mean life gets easy. Sometimes, it just means faithfulness in the middle of hard, thankless, everyday work.

So let’s laugh, learn, and lean in together as we see how God speaks in the ordinary — and why you shouldn’t quit your day job just yet.

    📖 Scripture highlights: Matthew 1–2, Luke 2, John 7, John 8, John 10, Matthew 15, Matthew 23

  • Lots of Loss
    Jul 30 2025

🎙️ Episode: “Lots of Loss” – Wrestling with Grief, Faith, and a Good God

Welcome back to another episode of the LOL, God Podcast. This one’s different. It’s not

    light, it’s not easy—but it’s real.

This episode was never supposed to be now. I had “Loss” episode planned for later. Much later. But after devastating floods in Texas this month that claimed the lives of so

    many—including 37 children—I found myself asking questions

Why, God? Why them? Why now? Where are You?

From the tragic loss of loved ones in my own life, to my husband losing his father at

age 8, to my conversation with a mother who lost her only daughter—this episode

is an honest wrestle with the reality of suffering and the mystery of God’s sovereignty.

    I’ll take you through:

    • My gut reaction to the July 4th Texas Hill Country floods
    • A raw moment where I had no words—just tears and a reach for God
    • Reading Genesis 3 with new eyes: how the “crafty serpent” still gets in our ears
    • An unforgettable conversation with Lisa, the mom of my childhood friend Lindsay, and how she sees God’s glory in the unthinkable
    • Why I’ve always resisted quoting Romans 8:28—and why I might finally be ready
    • My personal fears, questions, anger... and the surprising peace I’m starting to glimpse

    This isn’t a “pretty” episode, but I pray it’s a meaningful one—especially for anyone

walking through pain or loss. If your soul is not well right now, know you’re

not alone. And know God sees you.

    🎙 LOL God Pod - Episode 1: A Tantrum and A Towel

Welcome to the very first episode of the LOL, God Pod! There’s a learning curve in this podcasting world, but we’re diving in headfirst with real talk, raw moments, and relatable faith-filled insights.

In this heartfelt and hilarious debut, our host (a proud mama and Jesus-loving woman) takes you on a chaotic family road trip that leads to unexpected spiritual revelation. From car seat meltdowns and neck-pinching toddler habits to biblical wisdom found in John 13, this episode is full of LOLs (Laugh Out Louds and Lessons of Love) and reminds us all that God shows up in the everyday mess.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:
    • Why sitting in the front seat meant everything… until it didn’t
    • The odd and hilarious way one toddler finds comfort (spoiler: it involves neck skin)
    • How a verse from John 15 turned a meltdown into a ministry moment
    • The beauty of Jesus washing His disciples’ feet—and why one towel matters
    • What it really means to lay down your life for others (yes, even when it’s just letting go of your own plans)
    • Encouragement for anyone who feels unseen in their daily sacrifices

    Scripture References:
    • John 15:13 – “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
    • John 13:1–5 – Jesus washes the disciples’ feet, demonstrating true servanthood.
    • 2 Corinthians 1:7 – “As you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.”

A Message for Listeners Feeling Burned Out:

If you’re overwhelmed, unnoticed, and exhausted from constantly pouring into others, this episode is for you. You’re not invisible. Your sacrifice has meaning. And you're walking the path of blessing—even when it doesn't feel like it.

    Final Thoughts:

This episode reminds us: Jesus didn’t wait until it was convenient to serve others—He served in the face of betrayal, suffering, and death. When we choose to love like He did, even when it's hard, even when we're stuck between the car seats… God sees you!

  • Intro. Why "LOL, GOD"?
    Apr 30 2025

🎙️ Show Notes — Episode 0: "LOL, God?"

Welcome to the very first unofficial episode of the

podcast—an honest, raw, and faith-filled introduction to a journey still being

revealed. Our host steps up to the mic with nerves, laughter, and total

vulnerability to share how this podcast came to be, even when she didn’t feel

equipped or confident. If you’ve ever doubted yourself, questioned if you heard

from God, or laughed at what He’s calling you to do—this one’s for you.

    In This Episode:

    • A behind-the-scenes look at how (and why) this podcast started
    • What to expect going forward (kind of… we’re taking it one episode at a time)
    • Struggles with hearing from God—and admitting when you think He spoke to you
    • Honest talk about imposter syndrome and faith-filled obedience
    • Reflections on Sarah and Abraham’s laughter in Genesis 17 & 18
    • A hilarious Jonah moment (yes, Jonah 1:1 is a real thing!)
    • The big LOL: God’s LOL means lots of love.
    • The verse that inspired the podcast name: Matthew 14:16 — "You feed them."
    • Why it's okay to be scared, unsure, and still say yes to God

    Scripture References:

    • Genesis 17:16–17, 18:11–15 (Sarah’s laughter and disbelief)
    • Jonah 1:1 (running from God’s calling)
    • Matthew 14:15–17 (Jesus feeds the 5,000)

Key Takeaway: Even if you're unsure, even if you

laugh, even if you feel totally unqualified—God can still use you. Say “yes,”

even if your “yes” starts with a nervous giggle.

Let’s Pray: We close the episode in prayer, asking

God for courage, clarity, and strength to follow where He leads—even into

    scary, unknown, or unlikely spaces.
