The Kirtland Temple was the first temple built during the Restoration and was dedicated in 1836 under the direction of Joseph Smith. Constructed through sacrifice and faith, the temple served as a place of worship, learning, and spiritual manifestations. Shortly after its dedication, sacred events occurred there, including appearances of Jesus Christ and ancient prophets who restored priesthood keys. The temple played a central role in the early Church and continues to be an important symbol of faith and devotion.
