Diet trends come and go so quickly that there often isn't enough time for real, hard research to be done on them. This leaves both supporters and detractors making claims based on prior opinion and intuition. When the research does eventually come along, it often gets ignored as everyone has already moved on... but not us!

After research and careful consideration, the International Society of Sports Nutrition has released an official position statement on the ketogenic diet and how it effects athletic performance. Even if you don't consider yourself an athlete, their analysis is so well reasoned that it provided an excellent basis for discussing dieting in general as well as keto specifically.
