FBI Director Kash Patel tesitfied in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday — and things got wild. From his botched public statements about the Charlie Kirk investigation, to angry exchanges with Democratic senators over Epstein files and claims of political firings, Patel defended his record – but raised more questions than he answered.

We spoke with Senator Chris Coons (D-Delaware) about what he found most alarming: dismissals of agents involved in investigations of Trump adversaries, claim after claim of maintained FBI independence, and whether the bureau’s new leadership can truly be trusted.
