  • KIB Podcast: Challenges of publishing and sharing sensitive data
    Apr 7 2026

In this episode we discuss the risks and the benefits of publishing and sharing research data. We also talk about the framework making it possible to publish and share data; the infrastructure, the support, the legal framework and the will to share.

An important game changer might be the EU court case regarding pseudonymized data, EDPS versus SRB (CJEU C‑413/23 P, EU:C:2025:645). We explain the case and discuss what the implications of the case might be, in general and for researchers.

In the studio discussing this hot topic are Frantzeska Papadopoulou Skarp, Professor of private law, Stockholm University, Gustav Nilsonne, Senior Advisor to the Swedish National Data Service (SND) and MD, PhD, Karolinska Institutet, and Glenn Haya, Data Access Unit, KIB.

  • KIB Podcast: The Hagströmer Medico-Historical Library and KIB – the importance of looking back when heading forward
    Feb 2 2026

Why is a collection of physical historical books, journals and manuscripts, as the Hagströmer collections, important in our digital world?

And how does the Nobel laureates react when they visit the Hagströmer library?

Since 2025 the Hagströmer Medico-Historical Library is part of Karolinska Institutet University Library. Planned is also for the collections to move to campus Solna.

This is some of what we talk about with Anna Lantz, curator and project manager at the Hagströmer Library, Thomas Perlmann, Professor in Molecular Developmental Biology, and Secretary of Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine and Sven Hagströmer, chair of the friends association at the Hagströmer Library.

  • KIB Podcast : Finding and being found! Why KI RIMS matters to you
    Oct 22 2025

“10 minutes of your time can make both funders, and local as well as international collaborators find you – instead of them choosing someone else.”

KI RIMS is not just another admin system but a system with a purpose to collect, improve and make the information about KI's research available.

It gathers data on publications and research grants, and researchers can then use the compiled information to, for example, generate their CV and publication list.

In this episode we discuss why you should take ten minutes to make sure your profile page mirrors you and the research you do. We hear Rose-Marie Karlsson, Grants Office, Johan Lundström, Professor of psychology, Catharina Rehn, Product manager and Katarina Amcoff at the University Library – all four at Karolinska Institutet.

A special thank you to Caroline Myrberg and Malin Essén, at KIB, for background information.
