The Franklin story is a rabbit hole for sure. As you research or read the books, The Franklin Cover-Up by John Decamp or The Franklin Scandal by Nick Bryant, its hard not to trail off onto a different path. Those paths include other trafficking rings, government programs, terror plots, satanism and various forms of corruption. It seems to never end.

Part 2 of the Franklin trafficking ring covers the interview of Alisha Owens. Alisha, one of the several alleged victims, provided a taped interview to Gary Caradori. The interview lasted several hours and covered events beginning in 1983.

This is part 1 of our series discussing what is often called the Franklin Scandal or the Franklin Cover-Up. Our discussion is partially based on two books, The Franklin Cover-Up by John DeCamp and The Franklin Scandal by Nicholas Bryant.

In 1988, the Franklin Community Federal Credit Union, located in Omaha, NE, was raided by federal banking officials. An estimated $34-$40,000,000 had been embezzled by its manager, Lawrence King. The investigation into King took a disgusting turn. Reports were turned over to the Nebraska Legislature implicating King in a child trafficking ring that would span coast to coast. Over the next few weeks, we will discuss and attempt to unravel the series of disturbing events that were alleged to have taken place.
