  • Day 228 with St. Faustina's Diary
    Aug 16 2022

Today's readings are from Notebook 3, numbers 1100-1105.

    So, another hundred numbers down!

We will talk about sacrifice and suffering which is a common theme in Sister Faustina's Diary. It's a topic that has to be talked about when speaking about love. You cannot have true, authentic love without sacrifice and suffering. Too often we think that real love will be devoid of these things but it's exactly the opposite.

  • Day 229 with St. Faustina's Diary
    Aug 17 2022

Today's readings are from Notebook 3, numbers 1106-1109.

We all understand the concept of "if you love someone set them free and if they come back to you they really love you." We understand that in order for someone to truly love, they have to be free to make the choice to be with us. However, when it comes to God, we have a very hard time understanding the free will concept. People actually think God is mean for not creating us in such a way that we never choose evil. But, because God loves us, He gave us free will.

    Aug 18 2022

Today's readings are from Notebook 3, numbers 1100-1114.

There's nothing too earthly-shattering today in our readings. But, we will be talking about Mary, as Sister Faustina talks about her in the last part of our readings. You can never talk enough about our Mother Mary and I thought we would go into some of the doctrines that deal with her.

So what happens when you are trying to do God's Will but it does not feel good? What is brings you a lot of suffering and torment? Does that mean you are on the wrong track? Sister Faustina experiences just this issue. We have seen her striving as hard as she can to live out God's Will, but it doesn't always feel good to her. So, does this mean she is on the wrong path?

  • Day 232 with St. Faustina's Diary
    Aug 20 2022

Today's readings are from Notebook 3, numbers 1121-1126.

Have you ever looked at a couple and seen them gushing in love and staring into each other's eyes? And then you look at yourself and your significant other and you don't see that same level of gushing love? Does it make you feel like maybe you don't love your significant other enough? Sister Faustina has the ability to be in ecstasy and be thoroughly connected to God. Many of us don't experience this and so we may wonder if we are doing something wrong.

  • Day 233 with St. Faustina's Diary
    Aug 21 2022

Today's readings are from Notebook 3, numbers 1127-1132.

Sister Faustina sees the devil lurking around her convent. When she demands that he tell her what he is doing, he says he is looking for idle and lazy souls. God gives us the gift of life and it is an absolute shame when we squander the time He gives us by being idle and wasting our days with useless entertainment. Sister Faustina tells us that it is the tired and toiled souls that will rejoice.

  • Week 34 with Venerable Fulton Sheen
    Aug 22 2022

This week we are reading the 34th number from "Way to Inner Peace." We will be discussing age. I find it a very interesting topic because no matter what age you are, everybody seems a little worried about growing older. What will our lives look like at 90? I think most people kind of think about it on the periphery of their lives but don't really think hard about it. Because we don't really think about we tend to land in old age and have no idea what to do or how to live.

Three key points: Tradition, memory, and wisdom.

  • Day 234 with St. Faustina's Diary
    Aug 22 2022

Today's readings are from Notebook 3, numbers 1133-1141.

We are celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi with Sister Faustina today. It's so important that we understand that Christ's Body is fully given to us in the Holy Eucharist. Everything in the Old Testament must be greater and utterly fulfilled in the New. Holy Communion is not symbolic--it is the true Body of Christ. It's a miraculous way to be united to our Savior.
