John Carlos Frey - Investigating Border Patrol, Immigration Policy, and Why Immigrants Risk It All

John brings 20 years of experience covering immigration, border security and corruption within the government to the table, as we have an honest discussion about migrants, border patrol, and the root causes that put peoples lives at risk for the sake of opportunity.

His reporting is the subject of a recently-released HBO documentary, Critical Incident: Death at the Border, which details how Border Patrol agents killed an undocumented immigrant and then covered it up. Frey is also the author of Sand and Blood: America's Stealth War on the Mexico Border — a definitive examination of the politics and power shaping U.S. immigration and border enforcement.

Frey is currently the host of The Raid, a new podcast that examines the human, political, and legal consequences of ongoing ICE raids across the USA.
