What does God actually give you in the wilderness? We all go through wilderness seasons: moments in life that feel scarce, isolating, and overwhelming. But what if the wilderness isn’t the end of your story? In this message, we close out our 6-week series “Finding Our Way Through the Wilderness” with one of the most powerful truths in Scripture: Jesus may not change the wilderness around you — but with Jesus, He can grow a garden within you.

Through the feeding of the 5,000 (Mark 6:30–44) and Jesus’ declaration as the Bread of Life (John 6:32–40), we discover that Jesus isn’t just a provider in the wilderness, He is the provision.

Discussion Questions:

1. What wilderness season are you currently in, or have recently walked through? How have you seen God meet you in it?

2. Jesus doesn’t just give bread. He is the bread. What’s the difference between looking to Jesus for what He can provide versus looking to Jesus as the provision itself? Which one describes where you are right now?

3. The sermon offered two choices: wander and return to Egypt, or trust the Good Shepherd daily. What does “returning to Egypt” look like for you specifically — what comfort or distraction do you run to when the wilderness gets hard?

4. The main point of the sermon was: “Jesus may not change the wilderness around you. But with Jesus, He can grow a garden within you.” Where have you already seen evidence of a garden growing in you — even if the wilderness hasn’t changed?

5. Sonny and Jenai shared their story while still in the middle of their wilderness. Who in your life is in a wilderness right now and needs to hear that the Good Shepherd hasn’t left them?

6. Next week is Easter, the ultimate proof that the wilderness is never the final word. Who is one person in your life who needs to hear that story? Commit to inviting them to Easter this week: send the text, make the call, extend the invitation. Don’t wait.
