There are two passages in the Old Testament where biblical characters actually see the face of Jesus. The first is the commissioning of Isaiah in Isaiah Chapter 6, and the second is Jacob’s vision at Bethel in Genesis 28—of a heavenly staircase with angels ascending and descending upon it. When we come to the New Testament, Jesus promises Nathanael that he will see a vision much like Jacob saw at Bethel. In John 1:51, Jesus says Nathanael will see the heavens opened and angels ascending and descending upon the Son of Man! How is the vision promised to Nathanael a reflection of Jacob’s vision at Bethel? And how is this vision ultimately fulfilled in the climactic vision of angels in the Book of Revelation? Join Dr. Warren Gage as he explains!
