Acerca de esta escucha
In this episode, I interview Jared Smith, a tattoo artist originally from Pennsylvania. Jared works at Authentic Tattoo in San Francisco.
He bought his first tattoo machine at 15, and began his experiments with tattooing by messing around by tattooing himself and friends. He completed his first apprenticeship and started tattooing professionally for the first time in 2008. After a 2nd apprenticeship, he started tattooing again in 2017
Now he's a resident of San Francisco with Authentic Tattoo. Japanese ukiyo-e, or woodblock printing, is his source of inspiration, but he isn't afraid to try out new styles to suit his clients.
Hear all about his stories and how he launched his career in this episode of The Visual Artist's Spotlight.
You can follow Jared on Instagram at jaredsmith_art to see his art yourself, or visit Miko's blog at www.smallbusinesshop.com/mimi-embroidery-blog to read the full transcript and see various examples of his artwork. Make sure to follow Miko's blog and Instagram @MimiHanaThreads to get updates when new episodes will appear, and when live interviews will happen on Clubhouse at the Stitch and Bitch Club.
