Jackal is one of the hosts of the Stealth: A Transmasculine Podcast. He grew up in the Los Angeles area and began transitioning around 1998 in the supportive Seattle community. Jackal is a passionate anti-racist and anti-oppression advocate. He identifies as a transman, FTM, nonbinary and genderqueer and also as white, working class and queer. He loves karaoke and currently lives with his dog and two cats. Jackal shares a memory of a gender nonconforming childhood classmate and his punk anarchist roots. He believes that “stealth” happened to him rather than him choosing to be stealth and delves into the many layers of his gender identity and his current successes and struggles. Jackal honors his elders, those transmen whose kindness and mentorship were critical to his transition.
