Everyone has a story and is a story in the making. As I see people in restaurants or retail establishments or other places where people come and go, I often ask myself, “what’s their story?” I often wonder, if they could tell me in a sentence the title or “punch line” of their life, what would it be? To understand that everyone has a story is to know intuitively that everyone has stuff in the life…things they are struggling with. In this devotional I not only ask the question, “What’s your story?” but tell you a little bit of my story.

If you’re like me you talk to yourself (internally).

And if you’re like me, you beat yourself up for NOT being or doing something or something you did or did not do in your past

And sometimes events of my past haunt me, and internally taunt me telling myself how screwed up I am, and then I begin the downward path toward depression.

In Psalms 42 there seems to be a two-step process the Psalmist uses to bring himself out of the pit of depression. Maybe this will help you as it has helped me.

It seems dependability is a rare commodity these days. There are few people, few companies that you can really depend upon. Rather, what is more common are late deliveries, unmet construction deadlines, and people not coming through on their promises. But, no matter when, no matter where, and in no matter what circumstance, there is One Person you can depend upon, and that of course is God.

Consider one of the most wonderful realities we could ever hope for or imagine: the God of the universe “thinks on me (you).”

If there is anything that should give us rest or comfort, it is this!

BUT WAIT a minute…you might be thinking “Out of the 6 billion people in the world and all that’s going on, are you sure he even knows who I am? Or even if he does I’m just an insignificant pod…..no one of consequence!” ....

God designed us to have joy and sometimes that joy is expressed in laughter! Yes, God designed us to laugh and yet people like me always seem so serious. Maybe you didn’t know this but I love to laugh, and there have even been times when my laughter has been contagious, causing others to laugh. In this devotional I share some of the Bible’s perspective on faith, fun and fellowship. And maybe even allow you to laugh (or at least chuckle) at my expense.

Thoughts about your last days….

Have you ever wondered what people will say on that day when God determines you life is over? To be fair, I think most people wonder what people will say about them after they’re gone and at their memorial.

And yet, we allow the same advertisement bombard our head-space multiple times during a TV show. But what if it wasn’t actually nagging, what if it was a Word from the Lord (to you)? We can never understand or appreciate Easter unless we grasp the full extent of what Christ did for us on the cross. When we process in not only our minds, but deep within our hearts Easter becomes very personal. The Great Exchange changes everything!
