    Inspired by Sinclair Lewis’ dystopian novel, It Can’t Happen Here, Dresser offers a glimpse of what could happen after the 2024 election if fascism creeps into the USA. Told through the voices of a fragmenting American family, It Happened Here 2024 describes a country that still has Netflix and free two-day delivery, where the only thing lost is freedom.

    The cast includes Molly Babos, Molly Carden, four-time Emmy Award winner Edie Falco, Tony Award winner Santino Fontana, Luke Kirby, Tom Pecinka, Marianne Rendon, Tony Award winner and five-time Emmy Award winner Tony Shalhoub, and Emmy Award winner John Turturro.

Leftist fantasy drama

Horribly flawed, but good.

This story is overflowing with leftist fear porn. Laughably absurd. Aside from that it’s a superbly produced and performed piece of propaganda about a broken family that finds a way to put themselves back together in-spite of multiple tragedies and a country that has fallen to a dictator. It’s a good story about family dynamics wrapped in political vomit but I still enjoyed it.

So, This Aged Well!

It did not take long for the “fictional Red Hat haters” to dive into fear-mongering, gaslighting, and MSM-parroted talking points. I truly don’t mind politics being added/addressed in fiction, but this is FAR from someone actually creating their own antagonist(s). I’m hoping that people will eventually start investigating and thinking for themselves instead of merely being satisfied by the media spoonfeeding them out-of-context, edited, or downright false information. But, the election is now over, so I guess perhaps more people HAVE awoken!
