University presidents from Harvard, MIT, and the University of Pennsylvania will testify before Congress on rampant antisemitism on their campuses following Hamas' terror attacks. The Committee on Education and the Workforce will hold a hearing titled 'Holding Campus Leaders Accountable and Confronting Antisemitism.' College and university presidents have a responsibility to foster a safe learning environment and take action against antisemitism.

C.I.A. Director William J. Burns arrived in Qatar for negotiations on freeing more hostages held in Gaza. He and the head of Israel's spy service will meet with Qatari officials to build on the agreement reached between Israel and Hamas to extend the pause in fighting. The talks aim to release hostages taken during the Hamas-led attacks on Israel in October.

The US military will fly three planeloads of crucial humanitarian aid to North Sinai in Egypt to be brought into Gaza to aid civilians in the region. The aid includes medical supplies, food, and winter weather gear as Gaza enters its rainy season. The announcement comes amid a pause in the fighting between Israel and Hamas, and the aid will be distributed by the United Nations.

A truce between Israel and Hamas has entered a fifth day, with the militant group promising to release more civilian hostages to delay the expected resumption of the war and Israel under pressure to spare Palestinian civilians when the fighting resumes.

"Over my dead body," he told mediators furiously. "We will not accept such a list. We can't live in peace with the separation of two families and the separation of children from their mothers."

Relatives and a friend of Israelis kidnapped and killed by Hamas visited Australia's Parliament House to lobby for international support for the release of all hostages and to support Israel's war effort. The group aims to get the hostages back and gain support from the Australian people and government for Israel's actions against Hamas.

The U.S. says it will push for the truce to last until all the hostages are released. The extension, announced by Qatari mediators, comes as 11 more Israeli hostages, including 3-year-old twins, are released. The pause marks the longest break in fighting in the Gaza Strip since October 7.
