Iowa Player with Heart: Rylee Philips

As Beck’s Player with Heart, Rylee Philips shows her dedication and passion both on and off the field. Rylee participates in track, cross country, and wrestling. She loves the opportunities her school has given her to step outside her comfort zone. With the introduction of a women’s wrestling team, Rylee took a chance to try something new and now has gained skills and connected with people she never thought she would. She has learned the importance of resilience, discipline, and confidence through sports and says athletics have shaped her into the person she is today. Rylee is also a member of 4-H and helps with summer reading programs. She also assists in her church with Vacation Bible School and children’s plays. From a young age, Rylee has learned to appreciate agriculture and the dedication it takes. She has been around agriculture all her life and has had the opportunity to raise goats and steers for market. Agriculture has taught her leadership, responsibility, and communication. She sees agriculture as the backbone of modern life and believes the hard work farmers put in every day shapes our world. She is incredibly grateful to be a part of the agriculture community and respects it more every day. After graduating, Rylee plans on attending Iowa Western Community College. From there, she wishes to transfer to the University of Iowa and major in finance and minor in either accounting or marketing. She aims to secure a stable career and use all the things she has learned.
