In the book of Numbers the Hebrews are across the Red Sea, never to return to Egypt and the exhaustingly hard life of slavery. During the time of Moses only rulers had free time. Working seven days a week, sunup to sunset to survive was normal. While camping in the desert 40 years, these former slaves, the Hebrews, would live better than almost everyone else at that time. Food, drink and lodging were provided by God!
