  • Bonus Ep: A Chat with Kate Sheridan (Conservation Kate)
    Aug 26 2025

Although we are off resting for 6 weeks, we couldn't quite leave you nerds with no conservation chat could we?

4 years after connecting with Kate on socials, we finally got a time to have a chat & record an episode. Kate is a researcher & fantastic science communicator (no awards given for the nerds who guess what we speak about here). From what conservation means to Kate to discussing the problems with the rising content both on socials & documentaries with the "up close & personal" with dangerous animals, this chat was insightful & an absolute joy.

But on this mid year final, Ryan & Nadia both share some beautiful butterfly stories plus Nadia gives some insight to how much on an environmental impact the Gaza conflict has had & we both question, "why isn't this being called out by wildlife NGOs?".

  • Nature News - Week 21 - I Spy An Eco Activist & Tarantulas In The Post
    Jul 2 2025

Week 21 of Nature News is a race against time as Ryan sits in his London flat, in 32C, no air con or fan & old tepid water to survive.

But back to reality, Nadia shares a story of how an activist who works to uncover the horrible story of salmon farming is suddenly a victim of intense surveillance by a private spy company, yeah, you read that right. And Ryan tells of a new study that uncovers the dark world of tarantulas & the illegal pet trade.
