As the month designated to celebrating Black history closes, I thought it appropriate to explore some of the various ways Black people come to understand their racial identity. I'm joined by my friends Nikkie and Serena, both of whom have backgrounds that have caused their experiences and perceptions of blackness to different drastically from my own, making for an insightful conversation.
