Instrument In God’s Hands - Step Out In Faith (Daily Devotional)

  • Resumen

  • Shalom and it is wonderful to join you here with another episode of Living Supernaturally. Through this week, over the last two days, we've looked at how we can be an effective instrument in God's hands to carry out His purpose and His plan. We looked at how we need to have willing hearts to be an instrument and how we can yield. In today's devotion, we are looking at how we need to step out in faith in order to be an instrument in His hands. When God calls us to be His instruments, He often calls us to step out in faith- moving forward even when we don't know or even when we don't see the full picture. Faith is really not about having all the answers but it is about trusting the one who has all the answers. In the Bible, we see Abraham's story- it's a powerful example of how he stepped out in faith to be used as an instrument. We see that God called him and asked him to leave his familiar homeland, all that he knew, all that he had and we see that Abraham obeyed even though he didn't even know where he was going. He had no map, he had no assurances but he had only the calling of God, he had only God's word. We see of what Hebrews writes about Abraham in Hebrews chapter 11, verse 8, ‘by faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.’ So, like Abraham when we are called and when we step out in faith, we may really not know where we're going or what the entire picture is. We may feel unqualified, we may feel uncertain or even feel fearful yet God wants us to trust Him. Being an instrument in God's hands means saying yes before we even can see the entire plan unfold. So, it's not about knowing what the answers are but it is knowing that God is in control and that He will equip us as we walk in obedience. As an instrument in God's hands, we live by what the scripture says which is we walk by faith and not by sight. The opposite of faith is fear and fear can grip us, it can scare us, it can hold us back and that's when we recognize that we must place our trust and our faith in God and not on our efforts. Faith is what keeps us moving. What has God called you for today? If it requires faith to step forward, ask the Lord to strengthen your faith to step out boldly into things He has for you and know that the Lord will be the one who directs your path ahead of you. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, even as you call us for greater things, we pray that we'll step out in faith, that we will trust that you know the way ahead, that you will give us Lord the ability to hand over any form of control and completely trust you and walk in faith. We rebuke any fear that may come in the midst of us being your instrument, thank you Father, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
