In the Waiting

SERIES: IN THE WILDERNESS

This Sermon Series looks at the next chapter of the story of God’s people IN THE WILDERNESS. The Israelites had camped at the base of Mt. Sinai while Moses received the Ten Commandments and God’s instructions for worship. On their way to the Promised Land, the Israelites had to cross through a great wilderness. A physical wilderness is a dangerous, inhospitable place where food is scarce and troubles are multiplied. The wilderness is a place of lack and insecurity. The people of Israel were about to take a test.

The truest test we can face is how we respond when we don’t get what we want.

BIG IDEA: God is still God in the waiting.

POINT #1- In the Wilderness, even waiting is dangerous.
POINT #2- In the wilderness, we go back to the things we know
POINT #3- God is even more merciful in the wilderness.
