    Our legislators are thinking about whistleblowing laws for Mississippi. Last year House Bill 1066 of 2024 was introduced to create the MISSISSIPPI WHISTLEBLOWER REWARD ACT to reward those who report improper use of government funds. But the bill wasn’t passed.

As you type your address into the system, similar addresses should populate. Simply click on yours to get started. Mississippians are encouraged to educate themselves on all races prior to heading to the polls.

    What are our civic duties? According to Arizona State Center for American Civics duties include such as voting, paying taxes, casting educated votes, serving on juries, defending the country in the armed forces, and participating in civic organizations.


    One of our civic duties is to defend our country in the armed forces. We’ve done a couple of broadcasts about that. If you’d like to learn a little bit about military and the law check out one of our In Legal Terms podcasts from September 9 or February 4th both from 2025.


    Another civic duty is to serve on juries. We’ve done a couple of broadcasts on that. May 28th 2024 and May 15th 2018.

    The Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office has been alerted the Voter Participation Center, a private organization, plans to send voter registration mailers to Mississippi residents. This is not official correspondence from the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office or county Circuit Clerks and is not an indication of a change in anyone’s voter registration status. If you have questions about your voter registration status, please visit YallVote.ms to verify, or contact your county Circuit Clerk.


    Absentee Ballots Now Available for the November 4 Elections. October 6 is the Voter Registration Deadline. Visit the My Election Day portal to receive election information tailored to your specific address, including a sample ballot. There are over 20 races involving redistricting and filling empty seats.
