Imperial Many Minds #4: How financial education makes you a better manager

Financial education is greatly valued as a leadership trait across all industries. Some professionals have a background or formal education in finance but those executives who don’t, lack skills that would help them get more senior management positions. Imperial College Business School made a study about the impact of financial education programmes for executives and found that not only did it increase executives’ financial competencies, but it also led to improved firm financial policies and performance.

In this episode, Dr Claudia Custodio and alumnus Andrew Fernando discuss the importance and benefits of having an understanding of finance, especially for executive-level employees.
