  • Getting meta about Meta
    May 13 2025

Welcome to the new I Love That For You! Today we're getting meta about Meta.

First, Kelly and Sean fill us in on how the podcast in this new format came to be before diving into their own social media diets / habits.

Then we dive into our listener email from Anxiously, Post Issues--dealing with freezing up and self-editing before posting and comparing and despairing. Kelly and Sean walk our listener through some (hopefully) helpful tips and tricks on dealing with the compare and despair vicious cycle of social media.

On We Think You'll Love This! we recommend two great resources to help you get offline just a little bit more:

    - Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture by Kyle Chayka

    - Social Media Escape Club by Seth Werkhesier

    - Bonus: The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt

    - The Honest Broker by Ted Giola

    - Plan English with Derek Thompson - Is Pop Culture Worse Than Ever?

On We Hate This For You! we rate some (very) triggering social media scenarios from you, dear listeners.

Finally we give some tips and tricks for healthy Meta use to go forward.

  • The Trailblazing Comedy Icon You Should've Never Heard Of: Carol Burnett
    Apr 22 2025

A solo episode today due to the crazy forces that be! (Is mercury in retrograde or is it just Spectrum's (terrible) internet?) First Kelly catches everyone up on her Coachella weekend and NYC marathon fundraising efforts. Then, by listener request, Kelly dives into a trailblazing comedy legend: Carol Burnett. Carol turns 92 later this month and is still going strong as ever. But did you know that the huge success she achieved happened in part due to the kindness of strangers? Listen in as Kelly dives into the mysterious benefactors who helped her get to New York where she found success on the stage, tv and ultimately her own iconic variety show.

  • The Faux-Bearded Female Pharaoh of Egypt Queen Hatshepsut
    Apr 15 2025

It's another time-traveling episode and the ladies are not just walking like an Egyptian but talking about them too! After an exciting update about Kelly reaching her dream of running the New York Marathon (be sure to support her fundraiser with World Animal Protection here: https://fundraisers.nyrr.org/kelly-lansing ), Red gives a life update about her move to Stratford to work with the Stratford Theater festival's wig and makeup department (for all the shows on this season, check out this link here: https://www.stratfordfestival.ca/WhatsOn/ThePlays ). Surprisingly this somehow managed to send our hosts down to the first examples of wigs and beards in history where they uncovered one of the first female pharaohs of ancient Egypt, the fake-bearded and most successful pharaoh you may never have heard of Hatshepsut! And after a hair-raising game of "I Moustache You This or That?", the girls decide what moustache style reigns supreme! Let's get to the root of the stache and see why this week the ladies are saying, "I Love This For You!"
